Hello,

My name is Joanna Robson and I am currently engaged in a research project to find out about people’s experiences of electronic shopping. This research is an integral part of my M.Phil/doctoral studies in the Department of Sociology at the University of East Anglia in Norfolk, UK. You can find out more about the research project here.

My academic background is interdisciplinary – my first degree is in Organization Studies and I attained a Masters in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford. I am interested in methodology and taught research methods at the University of Durham, School of Lifelong Learning before coming to Norfolk. I am currently an Associate Lecturer with the Open University teaching on three of their Social Science modules.

I am interested in many aspects of the social sciences, particularly in the areas of gender, technology (including the Internet), globalization, and methodology. My undergraduate dissertation was based on research into the implications of the introduction of word processing on women’s employment. My Masters thesis examined four crisis decision making models in the light of the Gulf War.

I am the mother of three boys aged 22, 10 and 7 and married to Howard who is a priest. We enjoy living in Norfolk.
